Have you ever sat down to do something, blinked, and suddenly hours have passed? It’s kind of weird how time moves, isn’t it? Some days feel endless, like waiting for the last bell at school, but others—especially weekends—fly by before you even realize it.
It’s like time doesn’t travel at a constant speed. It stretches and shrinks depending on what we’re doing, or maybe just how much we’re paying attention. When we’re bored, we notice every second ticking by. But when we’re having fun, we don’t stop to check the clock.
And that’s the strange part—we don’t really see time move. It just happens. We grow up without realizing, old photos start looking like different people, and things that felt like “just last week” turn out to be years ago.
So maybe time isn’t something we track, but something we feel. Maybe the reason it slips away so fast is because we’re always thinking about what’s next instead of just being here.
I don’t know—maybe there’s no way to slow time down. But if paying attention makes it feel longer, maybe that’s worth a try.
